Tipperary County Council calls on all Dog Owners to be extra vigilant and keep their dogs under control this lambing season. Sheep flocks are very vulnerable to dog attacks at this critical time of the year. Attacks not only cause undue suffering to sheep, they also have a devastating economic and emotional impact on farmers and their families.

You are liable for any injury or damage your dog causes to people or livestock.

If you witness sheep worrying or attacks on livestock, report it immediately to either Tipperary County Council Dog Warden Service by calling 0818 06 5000, or contact your local Garda Station.

Even the gentlest family pet can kill or injury livestock if allowed to roam, so never let your dog out unsupervised, especially at night

Further information on responsible dog ownership can be found HERE or by contacting the Environment & Climate Action Section at 0818 06 5000.
